Armor (shield), artifact (requires attunement by a 1 hour of meditation)

While using this shield, your Armor Class (AC) improves by 1, which adds to the shield's regular protection.

You can choose to Brace, which means you take a defensive stance until the start of your next turn. While Bracing, any attacks coming at you from the front will be harder for your opponents to land, giving them disadvantage. You will also have an advantage on any Saving Throws as long as you are facing the source of the threat.
During your Bracing period, you can charge forward in a straight line (up to 15 feet) and make an attack that deals 1d6 Bludgeoning Damage to any creatures in your path. After this charge, you will no longer have the defensive benefits of Bracing.
Additionally, you can throw Aegis up to 20 feet (or up to 40 feet), hitting for 1d6 Bludgeoning Damage. If you throw it, it can bounce off to hit up to two other creatures that are close together (Within 10ft). Aegis will return to you at the start of your next turn.

Aegis is a special weapon that was once used by the gods long ago.

Aegis can grow stronger over time, but to do so, you need to defeat other creatures. Only the kills you make count towards upgrading its power.

- **Stage 1:** This is the basic form, a shield that perfectly fits its wielder (so no two are alike).
- **Stage 2 - Aspect of Chaos:** After defeating 15 creatures with a challenge rating of 1 or higher, Aegis becomes a +2 Shield. When you charge, your next throw generates two shields that can hit different targets. One shield will always return to you, but the other will disappear if it misses or hits 3 Creatures.
- **Stage 3 - Aspect of Zeus:** After defeating 16 creatures with a challenge rating of 5 or higher, Aegis upgrades to a +3 Shield. When you throw Aegis, you can choose, a number of shields, to spin around in a 20-foot range. Creatures need to succeed on a Dexterity save to avoid taking 1d4 Slashing Damage, and if they fail, their movement speed drops to 5 feet. You can move the shields 5 feet each turn or call them back for another chance to hit anyone in their path forcing another Save. While using this ability, you will also gain one more Aegis, but you can't throw this extra one until you recall all of the shields.
- **Stage 4 - Aspect of Beowulf:** After defeating 15 creatures with a challenge rating of 10 or higher, Aegis reaches its final form and becomes a +4 Shield. It also increases the damage dealt by Aegis by one step (for example, from 1d6 to 1d8). While using this form, all damage taken by you goes up by 1d4. Once a day, you can choose a type of Dragon; when you charge, you will deal an extra 1d6 damage related to that Dragon's type.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
