Weapon (spear), rare

A heavily modified military fork, altered by alchemical means. The spear-tips are much wider than a normal military fork and fashioned with many small valves, as to release the caustic gas stored within the base of the spear. This makes for a weapon which is miles more deadly, although precise and expert use of alchemy is necessary in order to properly craft one. A gas mask is also recommended.

The weapon holds an amount of charges equal to your proficiency bonus. You can use a bonus action and expend 1 charge to awaken the noxious substance present within the spear. On your next successful weapon attack using this weapon, a blast of corrosive acid is released from the valves on the spear-tips. The attack's target, as well as all creatures within 5 feet of the creature you attacked must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or take an extra 2d6 acid damage as the caustic gas is violently expelled. Additionally, you can choose to expend 1 charge to cast the Acid Splash cantrip, causing the prongs to transmute into a form resembling a wide barrel. The spell is always cast as if it were 5th level.

Proficiency with a Spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
