Weapon (rifle, hunting), rare

This imposing rifle is a marvel of advanced artificer technology, combining powerful magic with a sleek, intimidating design. Its reinforced barrel and intricate runes are not only a testament to its creator's skill but also a source of its overwhelming power. While it offers exceptional firepower and versatility, it demands careful handling and respect for its potent capabilities.

Arcane Infusion: As an action, expend a spell slot to infuse the rifle with magical energy. For the next minute, the rifle deals an extra 2d6 force damage on a hit. This bonus damage increases to 3d6 at 5th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 17th level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once), regaining expended uses after a long rest.

Overcharge: Once per long rest, you can overcharge the rifle as a bonus action. For the next minute, the rifle deals an additional 1d8 lightning damage on a hit. However, each time you hit with the rifle while overcharged, you must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 1d6 lightning damage yourself.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Damage: Force, Damage: Force, Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Slow
