Agatha's Mask

A plain white stage mask with a simple cord to hold it in place.  This mask once belonged to an Elven wizard named Agatha who lived in the town of Conyberry along the Triboar Trail in the Sword Coast region of Faerûn ca. 1350 DR.

When worn, the mask bestowed on the wearer the illusory appearance of another race or monster. This effect only worked as long as the mask was worn and only effective to the naked eye; any magical scrutiny would reveal the true identity of the wearer.  No known magic could detect it.

While wearing this mask, you can use an action to cast the Disguise Self spell from it at will.  The spell can only be cast using the mask once per day and the spell ends if the mask is removed.  After the spell ends, you become afflicted with an effect from the Short-Term Madness table for 1d10 minutes.
