This weapon, if you could even call it that appears sentient, able to bend, twist, and attack from unexpected angles, biting onto foes and sundering their bodies. As a psudo sentient weapon, spells and abilities that target objects cannot target this weapon, and ones that target creature can (though it will not take conditions or additional effects, only damage). You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magical scythe. Scythes naturally have the finesse trait.
Twisting Attacks: When you make an attack with this weapon against a foe who does not know your exact location, such as through invisibility, blindness, or a similar condition, the twisting of this weapon can make it appear as if you are in another space within 10ft of your actual location. If a creature attacks you without learning of your true location, they attack that space instead, potentially resulting in a miss.
Spacing Control: When you hit with an attack roll using this weapon, you may initiate a grapple, except the tip of the weapon's point is where you are grappling from. Use acrobatics in place of athletics. While grappled in this way, creatures have disadvantage to their attack rolls, and you may use a reaction to move them 5ft in a direction of your choice, as the weapon expands and forces them that way. Only one creature at a time can be grappled this way, and if you attack another creature, the grapple ends. The weapon has an extra 5ft of reach for attacks that use this feature, and for the purposes of grappling.
Vorpal Water: When you roll a 20 to hit with this weapon, the Abyssal Avenger greedily swallows the target whole if it is huge or smaller size. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, cannot breathe or speak, and it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the weapon (As do other things outside of the weapon, but it does not have cover from the weapon itself). It takes 16d6 magical bludgeoning and 16d6 acid damage at the start of each of the weapon's wielder's turns. If the weapon takes over 50 damage in a turn, it spits out any creatures swallowed. If the creature cannot be swallowed, it deals an additional 6d10 slashing damage instead. The weapon has an AC of 20, no damage resistances or immunities, and does not break when dealt damage. It fails all saving throws automatically. If the weapon takes over 100 cold damage at once, it freezes, turning off all of it's magical functions except it's +3 bonus until the end of the wielder's next turn.
Sentience: This weapon has an intelligence of 1, and simply loves to eat. While attuned, it will often use it's eyes to scan for things it's owner will allow it to bite.
Proficiency with a Glaive allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
