While holding this scale, the bearer gains the ability to breathe underwater and swim at a speed of 60 feet.  Once per long rest, the bearer can summon a cloud of abyssal darkness for 1 minute. Any creatures within this darkness hear whispers from the deep and take [roll]2d6[/roll] psychic damage each round they remain inside.  The scale also gives the bearer advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks when dealing with creatures from the sea or the Abyss.
