Wondrous Item, very rare

Essence of Lifeblood

  • When fired, the arrowheads retain a trace of vampiric essence in a purified form. Upon striking a target, these arrows absorb a portion of the target’s vitality, dealing an additional 1d6 necrotic damage and transferring half of this damage to the archer as temporary hit points. The necrotic energy has been purified, so it doesn’t harm non-evil creatures excessively, making the arrow versatile.
  • On a critical hit the target takes lone level of exhaustion.

Soul-Piercing Strike

  • When fired at a vampire, the arrowhead seeks out the vampire’s soul, disrupting its connection to undeath. On a successful hit, the vampire must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. If it fails, the arrowhead temporarily severs the vampire’s regenerative abilities, disabling their regeneration for 1d4 turns. The arrow also inflicts an extra 2d6 radiant damage, burning with the purified energy of the original vampiric curse.

Bloodhunter’s Boon

  • Each arrowhead has the scent of blood imbued within it, allowing the archer to track their prey. When the arrow strikes a target, regardless of the damage it inflicts, the arrowhead leaves behind a lingering mystical trail that the archer can sense within a 1-mile radius for the next 24 hours. This effect could be used for tracking vampires or any other creatures in the darkness.
