Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement by a Must you know insert the sword)
  • You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
  • Tentacle Lash. As a bonus action, you can extend the blade of the sword like a tentacle. Choose a target within 10 feet. The target must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, the target is pulled 5 feet toward you and is grappled (escape DC equal to the save DC). The grapple lasts until the start of your next turn or until you release the target as a free action.

  • Writhing Blade. The sword is alive with an unnatural sentience. You gain advantage on attack rolls made against creatures that are grappled, by the the sword.

  • Feeding Strike. Once per long rest, when you deal damage with the Tentacle Sword, you can choose to absorb vitality from the creature hit. You regain hit points equal to half the damage dealt.

  • Eldritch Whisper. The sword occasionally mutters alien words in your mind. Once per day, you can cast Detect Thoughts without expending a spell slot.

  • Attunement Quirk:

    • While attuned to the Tentacle Sword, you might feel a faint twitching sensation on your skin, as if small tentacles brush against you in the dark.
