A custom-made device that costs at least 20000gp is required to contain and properly mix the traces of the 8 Astral Conduits (The Ravager, The Devourer, The Jaundiced, The Hoarder, The Slumberer, The Imperious, The Temptress, The Silenced). This custom device has slots for 8 vials containing traces from the 8 Astral Conduits (Traces of Fury, Traces of Indulgence, Traces of Desire, Traces of Avarice, Traces of Langour, Traces of Hubris, Traces of Allure, Traces of Acquiescence). When the 8 traces are combined within the device, it becomes an Astral Beacon.
When the Astral Beacon is activated, the user rolls a d8. One of these 8 creatures will be summoned nearby: 1. "The Ravager - Butcher of Wrath" 2. "The Devourer - Jaws of Gluttony" 3. "The Jaundiced - Drudge of Envy" 4. "The Hoarder - Plunderer of Greed" 5. "The Slumberer - Wallow of Sloth" 6. "The Imperious - Sovereign of Pride" 7. "The Temptress - Charmer of Lust" 8. "The Silenced - Shadow of Despair". The entity summoned will exist for one minute before disappearing. The summon will not attack the summoner or the summoner's allies, but will attack everything else. The summoner can not give commands to the summon, it acts of its own will.
The Astral Beacon is activated if the holder speaks the following words with the intention of activating the beacon: "The Void answers my call." Once the Astral Beacon is activated, the trace matching the summoned entity is consumed by the beacon. The Astral Beacon cannot be activated again until that trace is replaced.
