The Acrobat's Ball of Heavy Metal outwardly looks like any regular inflatable circus ball and functions like one for the person attuned to it. But for any other creature or object, it is a ball of the same size and shape made of solid iron. When a creature or object gets hit by this ball, it must make a DC (10 + Cha modifier) Dexterity saving throw, taking a 1d6 + proficiency modifier [roll]1d6[/roll] bludgeoning damage.
Attunement with this item allows you to add your Charisma modifier in place of Strength when making an attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This item has the following attunement properties.
Knock Prone. If you hit a creature of the same size or smaller with this weapon, on a critical hit, it must make a STR saving throw DC 17 or be knocked prone.
Push. If you hit a creature or object with this weapon, you can push it up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is one size smaller than you are.
Upgradeable. This item can be taken to an artificer to be upgraded (costs apply).
+1 Rare Knock Prone and Push properties applies to creatures 1 size larger.
+2 Very Rare The item gains an additional elemental damage of 1d4 or any additional effect you choose. Effects may be similar to the ones suggested below.
Decoy. On a hit, an illusion of a medium sized creature or beast manifests 5ft from the target. It does not make a sound but can make simple movements like harmless facial reactions or hand gestures. It functions as a momentary distraction.
Color Cloud. On a hit, a cloud of colorful poweder bursts from the ball and obscures the area 5 ft around the hit creature. The area is now heavily obscured and creatures within this area has disadvantage to attacks outside of it.
