Armor (shield), legendary (requires attunement by a short rest.)

The Aegis of the Fallen King is a massive, ancient shield forged in the final days of a forgotten monarch. Imbued with the soul of a once-powerful king, this shield is one of the Echoes of Divinity, holding immense protective and offensive power. Its surface is a deep obsidian black with faintly glowing runes of protection and sacrifice, and it pulses with the remnants of the king’s lingering spirit.

Divine Protection: The Aegis provides resistance to radiant and necrotic damage. The bearer has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Lore:

The Aegis of the Fallen King is a relic from a time when gods and mortals waged war. The fallen monarch who once wielded this shield was known for his unwavering commitment to his people, defending them even in death. The shield now stands as a testament to his sacrifice, harboring the weight of his responsibility. Only those who can bear the mantle of leadership and shoulder the burdens of sacrifice can wield the Aegis and unlock its full power.

Attunement: Only a creature with a strong sense of duty and responsibility can attune to the Aegis of the Fallen King. The shield seeks those who are willing to sacrifice for others, and it rejects those who are selfish or lack the courage to lead.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, Resistance: Radiant, Resistance: Necrotic, short rest.
