Wondrous Item, artifact

Early in the days after the Younger Kindred arrived in Avalon, dwarves began delving deep in the Eastern Mountains. There they found a wondrous seam of deep-orange corundum enriched by essence from the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Radiance, which their finest gemcutters and smiths crafted the Jacinth of Inestimable Beauty.

A large deep-orange gem the size of a small coconut, the jacinth gives off bright light in a 15 ft radius and dim light to 30 ft. Warm to the touch, it radiates a mild heat. It also exudes random floral fragrances, depending on what spell or action is being used.

While a person is attuned to the jacinth, the person gains the following benefits:

  • Resistance to radiant and necrotic damage
  • Charisma increases by 2
  • Can cast Starry Wisp at 7th level of ability at will
  • Can cast Guiding Bolt at 7th level of ability at will*
  • Can cast Cure Wounds at 7th level of ability at will*

Casting a spell marked with an asterisk, requires the caster to make a DC 18 CON save or suffer one level of exhaustion. However, the sensation is so pleasant that the bearer MUST make a DC 18 WIS save or attempt to use another power next turn. A succession of failed saving throws could see the bearer succumbing to their desires....but at least they'll know they died with a smile on their face.

Notes: Resistance: Radiant, Resistance: Necrotic, Bonus: Charisma Score, Exhaustion, Control, Debuff
