Antimony Diadem of Heuristic Detection

This diadem is made of an alloy of Antimony and Tin. It is composed of a thin metal band adorned with incredibly intricate designs that loop around the entire headpiece with spiraling patterning. 

While this item is attuned, the wearer can focus on a single specific magical item within 20 feet for one round, after which time the magic of the item is suppressed, as if the item were enveloped in an Antimagic Field.

If the wearer continues to focus on the item for one minute, they will understand exactly what the item is composed of, both in material components, as well as magical effects.

If you are able to cast spells, you can’t cast them or concentrate on them while this item is attuned. Any skills or abilities that can be activated that require a routine upkeep to stay active cannot be used while attuned to this item. 

Cursed: This item imparts a curse upon the wearer: while the diadem is attuned, the wearer never feels the desire or need to remove the item, and will forget they are even wearing it if asked to describe what equipment they have on. While under the effect of the curse, the wearer can be fully cognizant that the magical effects of an item are keeping them from utilizing their full potential with spells and abilities, but will not be able to come to the conclusion on their own that the debilitation would cease if they simply took the diadem off. The diadem is not magically attached to the wearer in any way, and can easily be removed by anyone, or even fall off of the wearer’s head in the course of normal activity. The wearer of the diadem can be reminded by others that they are wearing it, and can remove it. There are no lasting effects of this curse, but it will afflict itself anew if the diadem is attuned again.
