Description. The Aegis of the Ruby Eclipse is sculpted from the scales of Sardior, the ruby dragon, each crimson shard gleaming with a soft inner light that occasionally flickers with unseen images. The armor appears fluid, as though the scales shift like liquid crystal when touched. Elegant geometries of glowing, cerulean blue runes are seamlessly threaded throughout the joints, creating an aura that resonates gently with anyone nearby. The pauldrons form intricate dragon wings, frozen mid-beat, while the chest bears a translucent, swirling vortex that captures the soft glow of twilight. The ruby gem at the heart of the chestplate pulses in rhythm with the armor-bearer’s heartbeat, creating a sensation of divine connection. Surrounding the wearer, an almost invisible shimmer hints at the powerful astral barrier protecting all within its vicinity.
Usage. The armor grants the wearer a protective Astral Barrier, projecting a 20-foot radius field that reduces all incoming damage by 6d6 (except from force damage) for creatures in the radius. Each time the barrier absorbs damage, it costs 1 charge from the armor. Additionally, the barrier shields against non-magical projectiles, immediately causing them to disintegrate upon impact. While the barrier is active, the wearer gains advantage on all rolls involving psionic or mind-influencing effects. The effect lasts for 10 minutes, and deactivates once all charges are spent. It recharges fully each night at dusk.

An ancient relic tied to the god of night and knowledge, Sardior, the First Ruby Dragon, the Aegis of the Ruby Eclipse is said to have been crafted in the Astral Realm itself as a gift bestowed upon the most faithful psionic warriors who served under Sardior's banner. Legends tell of how its radiant barrier was not merely protection in the physical sense but also a shield against the encroaching darkness of mental anguish and despair. When the stars aligned and the moons waned, the armor was bestowed with the power to not just defend, but actively erase threats, both seen and unseen. Few who wear this armor live long enough to part with it; most disappear into myths themselves, vanishing into the folds of reality where the psionic plane intersects with the material world.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
