A retractable cannon mounted to a mech suit's shoulder, fitted with the Gem of Souls. The Aetherian Cannon is directly connected to the Gem of Souls, visibly linked by glowing ethereal tendrils. When it fires, the cannon emits a low hum, and spectral images of the captured souls briefly appear within the blast.
As an action, you can fire the cannon, making a ranged spell attack against a target you can see with a range of 60/120 feet. When you use the Aetherian Cannon to make a ranged spell attack, it releases a blast of raw energy fueled by the souls captured within the Gem of Souls. On a hit, the target takes 2d10 force damage.
If a creature killed by the Aetherian Cannon meets the CR requirement for the gem (CR equal to or less than half your level), its soul is automatically harvested into the gem, bypassing the need for a reaction.
Additionally, when you make an attack with the Aetherian Cannon, you may expend one stored soul as part of the attack to gain one of the following effects:
- Overcharged Blast: Deal an additional 1d10 damage (force or necrotic) for each soul expended, up to a maximum of your proficiency bonus.
- Soul-Piercing Shot: When expending a soul, the attack ignores resistance to force or necrotic damage.
- Lingering Echo: On a hit, the target is also knocked back 10 feet, and the next attack made against the target has advantage before the start of your next turn.
Additionally, if you have 3 or more souls stored in the Gem, you can use a bonus action to trigger Aetherian Overclock. The next time you attack with the Aetherian Cannon before the end of your turn, the shot is supercharged:
- You make the attack with advantage.
- The damage increases to 4d10, and on a hit, the target must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = your spell save DC). On a failure, the target is stunned until the end of your next turn.
The blaster is a ranged weapon that deals (1d6) radiant damage on a hit. Its normal range is 30 feet, and its long range is 90 feet.
