Armor (plate), legendary (requires attunement)
You have Resistance to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage while you wear this armor.
Metal Shell. You can take a Magic action to give yourself Immunity to Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing damage for 10 minutes or until you are no longer wearing the armor. Once this property is used, it can’t be used again until the next dawn.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
Notes: Resistance: Bludgeoning, Resistance: Piercing, Resistance: Slashing, Str. 15 Required, Stealth Disadvantage
This armor is so much better now than the former version, resistance to ALL piercing slashing and bludgeoning damage instead of just nonmagical is a huge improvement
Much more fitting the legendary status of a armor
Nope, its still nonmagical attacks. I don't understand why they deleted in the text, but its mentioned in the notes and in the char-sheet.
The "notes" are not part of the actual item description, just a metadata thing on D&D Beyond. The actual item description, as printed in the 2024 DMG, does not say the word "non-magical". This is a change from the 2014 version, but it's a deliberate one.
It’s actually a downgrade. Now it only applies to B/P/S. Before it was ALL non-magical damage. Know what was non-magical? Dragons breaths, venomous poisons, structure fires, acid pits, gelatinous cubes, etc.
No I agree with Khaysus... because now you can't be harmed with magical weapons basically. Also, this armour is likely to be donned later on in the game, later on in the game there will be less nonmagical damage. I rest my case.
