This wooden broom functions like a mundane broom until you stand astride it and take a Magic action to make it hover beneath you, at which time it can be ridden in the air. It has a Fly Speed of 50 feet. It can carry up to 400 pounds, but its Fly Speed becomes 30 feet while carrying over 200 pounds. The broom stops hovering when you land or when you’re no longer riding it.
As a Magic action, you can send the broom to travel alone to a destination within 1 mile of you if you name the location and are familiar with it. The broom comes back to you when you take a Magic action and use a command word if the broom is still within 1 mile of you.
Notes: Set: Innate Speed (Flying), Speed Reduction: Impose
If you take hide action would the broom also be invisible?
Requires attunement now? I pretend I do not see it.
No one tell my DM.
Yes, if you successfully Hide, then per the Invisible condition, "Any equipment you are wearing or carrying is also concealed."
I like that final word "concealed" a lot better than "invisible" for that sort of situation. It's not like you magically gain an opacity of zero just from ducking behind a tree. Well, DnD versus English, right? The struggle never ends. :)
Old school Green Goblin build is now possible.
100% agree with pretending i don't see that. Not sure why they added that to the broom and not the carpets.
The attunement nerf was sad to see, but I understand why. All that flight on an uncommon level magic item without requiring attunement is broken. This is still a very good magic item to have despite the nerf.
