If you're referring to the fact that it requires attunement now, keep in mind that they also removed the requirement for you to use an action to activate and deactivate it.
I feel like that's not really a good tradeoff. But honestly i already think there's too many items that require attunement. This one does make sense but nerfing an item almost always feels bad for players. If anything they should have kept it as it was but made it a rare item.
I suppose they put attunemnet becasue the ring of swimming was of the same rarity, but it was worse in all aspects, so they had to compromise on something.

Posted May 6, 2026Except that it's a ring. It leaves room for a superior magic cloak/cape (which there are plenty of), whereas a ring won't limit your options at all.
