This dragon scale half-plate set is made of the scales of a Red Dragon brought back to (un)life by a powerful necromancer. Its scales remain charged with the spell's latent necromantic energy and the red dragon's high heat resistance. It is also reinforced with adamantine, making it extremely tough and resistant. It was put together by an extremely skilled artisan-blacksmith in the adamantine forge of Hrakammar.
While you’re wearing it, any Critical Hit against you becomes a normal hit.
While wearing this armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC, you have advantage on saving throws against the Frightful Presence and breath weapons of dragons, and you have Resistance to necrotic and fire damage.
Additionally, you can focus your senses as an action to magically discern the distance and direction to the closest black dragon within 30 miles of you. This special action can't be used again until the next dawn.
Half plate consists of shaped metal plates that cover most of the wearer's body. It does not include leg protection beyond simple greaves that are attached with leather straps.
