Ring, unknown rarity

Option 1:
It's just use as a way to focus the spells into actually manifesting and the spell slots are still the casters themselves energy but the gauntlet itself has its own power source that allows it to let off and deal with thunder damage on its own not connected to the caster therefore why it does not use a spell slot.

Option 2 (the one I think it's neat):
The amount of spell energy The gauntlet itself can take and let out per day has a limit or else it'll cause the gauntlet to essentially overload and explode and spell slots they're literally the character keeping track of how many spells at each power level that can be produced from The gauntlet that day. While again the punch that does thunder damage is connected to a different circuitry, wiring, system?...
therefore not using spell slots.
But then in that case technically you'd be able to go over it would just cause the gauntlet to explode and if that happens that can cause the character to take 1d4 to 1d10 depending on the level of spell they tried to cast or whatever is determined to make it not overpowered (probably the higher level spell you cast the more damage you could probably take)

And then a D4 could be rolled and it would take that many days/ long rests to fully repair the gauntlet and in that time the user wouldn't be able to cast spells and would only be able to attack using with their base strength score instead of the other modifier you get for the attack.
