Weapon (morningstar), rare (requires attunement)
Description:
This morningstar is a marvel of Aeorian engineering. Its spiked head appears to be made of a lattice of translucent crystal, with glowing energy coursing through its structure. When activated, arcs of shimmering plasma crackle between the spikes, illuminating the weapon with an otherworldly light. It was likely designed for use in Aeorian experiments or as a weapon of war during the Age of Arcanum.
Properties:
- Magic Weapon: You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
- Plasma Burst: As a bonus action you can speak the command word to activate the morningstar, causing plasma to arc across its spikes. While active, the morningstar sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. The weapon deals an extra 2d6 lightning damage on a hit. The plasma remains active until you use a bonus action to deactivate it or until you drop the weapon.
- Arcane Resonance: When you strike a creature with this weapon, you can sense faint reverberations of its magical energy. If the target is a spellcaster, you have advantage on your next saving throw against a spell cast by that creature before the end of your next turn.
Proficiency with a Morningstar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
