Description. The Aegis of the Sanguine Eclipse stands as a formidable barrier, a massive shield hewn from a colossal slab of hematite, its surface swirling with crimson motes. At its center, a pulsating gem of solidified blood reflects a deep, otherworldly glow. The edges, razor-thin and sharp as obsidian, hum with a vibrational energy. Intricate patterns, both chaotic and mesmerizing, lace its surface, hinting at its divine origin. On the reverse side, straps of woven shadow weave serve both as harness and conduit, pulsating in sync with the wielder's heartbeat.
Usage. The bearer gains a +3 bonus to all saving throws and regenerates 5 hit points at the start of each turn in addition to the base armor class bonus. Additionally, any successful melee attack against the wearer inflicts 1d6 psychic damage on the attacker. The bearer also becomes immune to bleed effects.
Lore. Forged eons ago in the crucible of a dying star by an enigmatic order of blood priests, the Aegis of the Sanguine Eclipse was designed as a bulwark against eldritch horrors that threatened to spill over the boundaries of the known realms. Said to have been wielded by an ancient hero whose bloodline was intertwined with celestial beings, it has witnessed countless battles in the planar struggle for balance.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
