Weapon (greataxe), artifact (requires attunement by a Horde or Village member)

Across the Kingdom of Kronarth barbarian hordes / villages are rumored to hold items that connect them to past relatives.  The rumors say that the ghosts of the dead relatives guard the wielders of the items in battle.  The ax starts with one ancestor.  For each ancestor that favors you the ax gains +1 to a max of +4.

During rests your ancestors can talk to you by giving advice or attempt to sooth your troubled mind in needed.  You gain advantage on history checks during rests.

Reaction while raging: The ancestors ax also grants the ability of spirit shield(modified).  For each ancestor that favors you you gain 1d6 for spirit shield which can be used on you or party members.  You gain this feature once you have two or more ancestors to a max of 3d6.

Once you have gained the favor of four ancestors you gain the use of Vengeful Ancestors.

To gain favor you need to do deeds (determined by the DM) that your ancestor likes.  You can also lose favor with ancestors by crossing their beliefs (also determined by the DM).

This item does not have to be an ax.

Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.

Notes: Horde or Village member, Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave
