A Golden set of plate armor adorned with large rubies and a red silk scarf that flows even when there is no wind. It glows with unwavering confidence and does not cover your feet, but who aims for the feet.
This armor once attuned can fade away and return as a bonus action. While gone it is like you are not wearing any armor at all and take no negatives or bonuses associated with it. As long as you are not wearing any other armor, besides a shield, you can have this armor appear on your person and immediately gain the benefits of the armor. Also, if an enemy makes a critical roll to attack you and you do not have the armor activated, you can summon it as a reaction before the attack is landed.
While wearing this armor you are immune to critical attacks, have resistance to piercing and slashing damage, and have an AC of 18+ your dex modifier.
This armor consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this armor provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered.
Notes: Immunity: Critical Hits, Bonus: Armor Class, Resistance: Piercing, Resistance: Slashing, Warding

Posted Sep 4, 2020AC of 18+DEX is ridiculous, especially for an Uncommon item. The Robe of the Archmagi only gives 15+DEX, and it's Legendary.

Posted Sep 5, 2020You're right, I made this to be an epic level item but it does need a bit more balancing.

Posted Jul 24, 2024It's just another try to get your AC beyond 20 and no drawbacks with ease. Also crit-immunity...on reaction. At best the DM may land one crit against the wearer, if any at all and you even steal this tiny chance from him? Does he steal your crits and joy over them too?
While having no advantage crit chance is 5%, having adv rises it to almost 10%. Considering that a DM usually has more than one opponent these chances are reduced even more and you just steal it. not cool at all dude, not cool at all. You are players not creatures from the MM or something. You're supposed to have a hard time during a fight and not laugh at the DM, while being crit immune.
While written in a way that suggests, that the wearer is basically unarmored aside from the breast, game mechanics doesn't ask for a particular limb to make it have the drawback it obviously is supposed to be or you cover this by house-rulings, which isn't clear by just reading it.
