Weapon (laser pistol), uncommon

The Artificers of Avaris designed the Arcsis system to aid Arcanists in and out of battles. One of the components of this system is the Tech Blaster Pistol. This pistol is highly versatile and can be outfitted with additional mods and attachments, the perfect pistol for those tech-savvy to draw out its full capability. Arc:Gear devices can only recover expended charges using a power relay station during a short or long rest.

You gain the following abilities when the pistol is paired with an Arkstar.

  • You can view the current ammo count on your Arkstar's user interface.
  • When you stow the pistol in its holster, the weapon automatically reloads, ejecting dead energy cells in the Tech Blaster Pistol's magazine.
  • As a bonus action, you can change the pistol's damage type to Fire, Lighting, or Thunder.

You can expend a charge of this pistol as part of the attack and apply the following effect determined by the damage type.

Radiant. The creature takes an additional 1d6 radiant damage and is Blinded until the start of its next turn.

Fire. If you deal fire damage to a creature or flammable object, it starts burning. At the start of each of its turns, a creature burning in this way takes 1d6 fire damage. A creature that can reach the burning target can use an action to extinguish the fire.

Lightning. The creature takes an additional 1d6 lightning damage and cannot take reactions until the start of its next turn.

Thunder. The creature takes an additional 1d6 thunder damage and is pushed 10 feet back.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.

Notes: Range, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Vex
