Weapon (shotgun), rare

The Artificers of Avaris designed the Arcsis system to aid Arcanists in and out of battles. One of the components of this system is the Heavy Pistol. This pistol is a powerful tool that is better used in close-quarters combat. Arc:Gear devices can only recover expended charges using a power relay station during a short or long rest.

You gain the following abilities when the pistol is paired with an Arkstar.

  • You can view the current ammo count on your Arkstar's user interface.
  • You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with these magic weapons.

You can expend a charge for this pistol as a bonus action and gain the following effect:

Armor Shredding Rounds. For the next minute, or when you hit with this weapon for the first time, you can reduce that creature's AC by 2. This ability can only affect non-magical armor or shields; a creature can only be affected once. Once an armor has been affected, it must be repaired with a DC 15 Smith's Tools during a short or long rest.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Push. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can push the creature up to 10 feet straight away from yourself if it is Large or smaller.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Push
