Charges. The key has 4 charges. It regains all expended charges when you finish a long rest.
Gateway. As an action, you can expend one charge to create a swirling portal of flame and shadow. This gateway connects your current location directly to the Ashbound Estate and remains open for 1 minute. Creatures may freely pass through the portal in either direction. When the minute expires, the gateway closes, safely returning any travelers to their point of origin.
Restrictions. Only the legal owner of the Ashbound Estate may activate this key. Unauthorized attempts trigger a brief harmless burst of crimson flame.
