This magic item replaces a lost arm. While the prosthetic is attached, it functions identically to the part it replaces. You can detach or reattach it as a Magic action, and it can’t be removed against your will while you are alive.
In addition, as an action or bonus action, you can activate the Armored Aegis and it produces a shield from a shaft in the forearm. The shield is undetectable while deactivated and serves as a mundane shield meaning it gives off no magical field. It is purely mechanical and retracts as an action or bonus action.
In addition, if this hand is exposed to fire damage, like grabbing a hot pan or pulling something out of lava, if the user of the arm takes damage, they have resistance to that damage.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
