This is an amulet found on the forgotten champion cursed for eternity to protect the shadowclasp catacombs.
While wearing this amulet, the wearer gains resistance to necrotic damage, and their Constitution score increases by 2, up to a maximum of 20.
Curse:
The curse of the amulet manifests in two ways:
1. Magical Healing Resistance: The wearer receives only half the normal amount of healing from magical sources (such as spells like Cure Wounds or Healing Word). This does not include healing from potions.
2. Undead Appearance: The wearer’s appearance begins to shift subtly toward the undead. Their skin becomes pallid and grayish, their eyes take on a hollowed or milky appearance, and veins darken as if bruised. These changes are gradual but permanent while attuned, and the wearer may start to feel a sense of coldness within their body.
Additional Curse:
The amulet automatically attunes to the wearer as soon as it is put on. It is impossible to attune to the amulet by normal means. To remove the curse a Ceremony spell (cast by a 3rd-level or higher cleric) must be performed. This ceremony involves a complex ritual to sever the bond with the amulet, and only after performing the ceremony can the wearer be freed.
