Armor (half plate), legendary (requires attunement by a soul who shall be thereafter bound to the armor. Each level of the armor's awakening is unlocked through completing specific milestones, unlocking its greater powers and responsibilities.)

Forged from the psionic magic of the world itself, by the ancient emerald dragon, Anwansu, the Mindforge, the Armor of the Skybound Sovereign is a living relic of defiance and empowerment. Its spectral design shifts to complement its wearer, blending seamlessly with their anatomy and surroundings. Its radiant psionic wings, formed of pure energy, emerge as if they were always part of the bearer, providing both flight and a reminder of the heavy burden tied to the armor’s legacy.

The soul of Anwansu is bound to the armor, acting as a guiding warden of its power. Once the bearer is attuned to the armor, a part of their soul is also bound to it, and their trials begin. The sacrifice that one makes to don the Armor of the Skybound Sovereign is everlasting as to keep the power from falling into the wrong hands. As the bearer completes their trials, the soul-bind strengthens and grants access to more of the Armor's ability.

Armor Class: Base AC of 15 + Dexterity modifier. Gains an additional +1 bonus to AC per level of awakening.

Level 1: Wings of Defiance

The armor’s psionic essence begins to awaken, granting its wearer limited agility and protection against falls. However, the echoes of Anwansu impose a toll on the bearer’s mental state.

Abilities:

• Fallbreaker: You are immune to fall damage.

• Emerald Agility: Your jump distance is doubled, and you have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks related to climbing or leaping.

• Psionic Echo: When you fall unconscious or die, the armor emits a faint psionic signal detectable by creatures attuned to magic or psychic energy within 1 mile.

Drawbacks:

• Psionic Intrusion: The echoes of Anwansu’s voice invade your thoughts, causing constant distraction. You have disadvantage on Insight and Persuasion checks.

• Mental Fatigue: If you fail a saving throw against exhaustion, you immediately gain an additional level of exhaustion.

Milestone to Advance:

Defend innocents or protect a vulnerable group from overwhelming odds, proving your resolve to shield others from harm.

Level 2: Wings of the Scion

As the armor awakens further, the psionic wings materialize fully, granting the bearer the power of limited flight. However, with greater power comes greater insight into the bearer’s role as the armor’s eternal guardian.

Abilities

• Limited Flight: You can summon your psionic wings as a bonus action, granting you a flying speed equal to your walking speed for up to 10 minutes. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

• Draconic Insight: Once per long rest, you can cast detect thoughts without expending a spell slot, using Wisdom as your spellcasting ability.

Drawbacks:

• Dreams of Eternity: You experience vivid dreams of yourself bound to the armor in death, guiding future generations. These restless nights impose disadvantage on saving throws against exhaustion until the milestone is completed.

• Psionic Feedback: The armor’s deeper connection to your mind causes occasional surges of psychic energy. At the start of each long rest, roll a d20. On a 1, you take 2d6 psychic damage as the armor briefly overwhelms your senses.

Milestone to Advance:

Defeat a tyrant, oppressor, or divine remnant, proving your resolve to challenge and overthrow forces of domination.

Level 3: Wings of the Sovereign

The armor achieves its full potential, granting its wearer unyielding flight and mastery over the world's psionic power. The whispers of Anwansu fade into silence, replaced by the bearer’s own clarity and purpose. However, the bond between the armor and the bearer’s soul becomes permanent, even beyond death.

Abilities

• Unyielding Flight: Your psionic wings become permanent, granting you a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can hover while flying and are immune to effects that would force you to the ground.

• Psionic Dominion: You can cast telekinesis and dispel magic once per long rest without expending a spell slot. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

• Psionic Reckoning (1/Day): Unleash the full power of the armor in a devastating psionic storm. As an action, you release a 60-foot radius burst of psionic energy. Creatures of your choice within range take 8d10 psychic damage and must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or be stunned until the end of their next turn.

Drawbacks:

• Weight of the Soul: Upon your death, your soul becomes bound to the armor, serving as its guardian until you are resurrected. While bound, you remain conscious of the world around you and can telepathically communicate with creatures attuned to the armor within 100 feet. If resurrected, the armor will call to you, compelling you to protect it once more.

• Cosmic Beacon: The fully awakened armor draws the attention of divine remnants and powerful entities. You gain disadvantage on Deception checks against creatures of CR 15 or higher, as they instinctively sense the armor’s power.

Final Milestone:

Unite warring factions, end a major conflict, or prove your worth as a leader by creating lasting peace or inspiring unity.

Half plate consists of shaped metal plates that cover most of the wearer's body. It does not include leg protection beyond simple greaves that are attached with leather straps.

Notes: Advantage: Acrobatics, Bonus: Armor Class, As an action, you release a 60-foot radius burst of psionic energy.
