Weapon (greatsword), artifact (requires attunement by a Creature of Good Alignment)

Forged in the furnaces deep within Elysium, the celestials created a weapon designed to smite evil in the name of good . While grasping the hilt, you can use a bonus action to make a weapon of pure radiance spring from the hilt, or cause the weapon to disappear. Ashbringer has all the properties of a sun blade.

Sentience. Ashbringer is a sentient neutral good weapon with an Intelligence of 15, a Wisdom of 18, and a Charisma of 16. It has hearing and truesight out to a range of 120 feet.

The sword can speak, read, and understand Common, and it can communicate with its wielder telepathically. Its voice is kind and feminine. It knows every language you know while you’re attuned to it.

Personality. Forged by ancient sun worshipers, Dawnbringer is meant to bring light into darkness and to fight creatures of darkness. It is kind and compassionate to those in need, but fierce and destructive to its enemies.

Long years lost in darkness have made Dawnbringer frightened of both the dark and abandonment. It prefers that its blade always be present and shedding light in areas of darkness, and it strongly resists being parted from its wielder for any length of time.

Dawnbringer Re-forged. The celestials in Elysium have known about Dawnbringer's existence for quite some time. Having dealt with the blade in the past, Safrin has drawn up plans to reinvigorate Dawnbringer.

After the reforging, Ashbringer has no fear of the dark. However, it has a much greater sense of right and wrong, shifting it's alignment to Neutral Good.

Spellcasting. Ashbringer is a beacon of hope. It acts on the turn of the attuned. It has 1 action or bonus action, and can concentrate on 1 spell. If Ashbringer is concentrating on a spell, it must use its action to maintain concentration. Ashbringer knows the following Cleric Spells, and can cast them without any Material components, somatic gestures, or verbal utterances.

Cantrips (at will): sacred flame, spare the dying

2nd level: continual flame, lesser restoration, protection from poison

3rd level: remove curse,

4th level: death ward

5th level: greater restoration

9th level: cure wounds, healing word, mass healing word, flame strike, mass cure wounds

Ashbringer regains 1d4 charges at Noon. If Ashbringer is on Holy Ground at noon, it regains 6d4 charges instead. Whenever you make a critical strike, Ashbringer gains charges equal to half of the radiant damage done.

Wake of Ashes. You can use your action to release a wake of ashes, destroying Ashbringer's Heart and casting meteor swarm. Once this ability is used, roll a d20. On a 1, Ashbringer becomes corrupted. The heart of Ashbringer recharges once all of it's charges have been exhausted and recharged.

The Wake of Ashes causes you to unleash the divine energy within yourself, causing your eyes to glimmer and two luminous, incorporeal wings to sprout from your back.

Your transformation lasts for 1 minute or until you end it as a bonus action. During it, you have a flying speed of 30 feet, and once on each of your turns, you can deal extra radiant damage to one target when you deal damage to it with an attack or a spell. The extra radiant damage equals your level.

"So it was that over the course of time, the man and the weapon seemed as one. Ashbringer became a name of legend, attributed not just to the fearsome blade but also to the relentless cleric who wielded it."

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
