A solar is godlike in its glory and power. On the battlefield, the solar’s sword flies into the fray on its own, and a single arrow from a solar’s bow can strike a target dead on contact. So great is a solar’s celestial might that even demon princes shrink at its resonant commands.
Angels, and by extension their weapons, are formed from the astral essence of benevolent gods and are thus divine beings of great power and foresight.
Dormant
While the Slaying Swords are in a dormant state, you gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with these magic weapons.
Additionally, when you make a Wisdom (Insight) check to determine whether a creature is lying, treat a roll of 7 or lower on the d20-test as an 8.
Awakened
When the Slaying Swords are in an awakened state, you gain the following benefits:
- The weapons' bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +2. Additionally, when you hit with an attack using this weapon, the target takes an extra 1d8 radiant damage.
- You can use an action to connect the scimitars from their hilts to form a longbow. Additionally, when you hit with an attack using the longbow and the target has 100 hit points or fewer, the target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or die. Once this special attack is used, it can’t be used again until you finish a short or long rest.
Exalted
When the Slaying Swords are in an exalted state, you gain the following benefits:
- The weapons' bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3, and the extra radiant damage it deals increases to 2d8.
- When using either a Channel Divinity or the Celestial Revelation -feature of an Aasimar, the swords may also cast Haste on yourself for 1 minute, or until the triggering effect lasts, without suffering the wave of lethargy afterwards. Once the spell has been cast by the Slaying Swords, that spell can’t be cast again until the next dawn.
Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
