Weapon (longsword), uncommon

The Zaoichi looks like a ordinary cane, walking stick or staff but the shaft of the item doubles as a sheath to hide a secret blade. the first attack you make with this weapon cannot be countered by a reaction unless the creature is ummune to the surprised condition. 

as a bonus action, after landing a strike with the blade you can attempt to strike the enemy with the sheath of the weapon, dealing an additional 1D4+ (strength modifier) bludgening damage.  

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
