Shadowrend appears as a sword forged from solid darkness, its blade shifting like rippling ink. In dim light or darkness, it seems to melt into the shadows, leaving only faint violet or black energy outlining its form. It hums with a quiet, eerie resonance, as though the darkness itself whispers.
Properties:
•Shadowform: Shadowrend deals 2d6 necrotic damage (or d10 for a longsword) instead of regular weapon damage.
•Shadowmeld: While you are in dim light or darkness, you gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls made with this weapon.
•Darkened Step: As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 20 feet to an unoccupied space you can see in dim light or darkness. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest.
•Consume Light: If you score a critical hit, the target is enveloped in swirling shadows. They must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or become blinded until the end of your next turn.
Curse:
The blade whispers dark promises, urging its wielder deeper into the shadows. While attuned to Shadowrend, you have disadvantage on attack rolls in bright light unless you take 2d6 psychic damage at the start of your turn to ignore this penalty for 1 minute.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Confront the Shadows: The wielder must sit in complete darkness for one hour, alone with their thoughts. During this time, they are plagued by visions of their worst fears, failures, and regrets. They must confront these visions without fleeing or breaking their focus. User must roll a d20 on the madness table., Versatile, Sap
