At first glance, this appears to be a roughly hewn jet black rod, roughly five inches long and roughly half an inch thick, One end has an inset fire opal, perfectly matched to the edge with a seam of gold wrapped around the edge. On close inspection, the surface contains a number of runes and arcane sigils.
Using a bonus action, you can say the command word and speak your incantations into it and all spells with a verbal component now have a range of 60' minimum (if the range is larger, keep the larger range). Spells with the range of "self" or "touch" are not affected. When you say the command word to activate the microphone, roll a d4:
1 - The rod becomes long and thin and the fire opal turns into a strange tiny oblong shape. If you can work in the phrase "spay and neuter your pets" into your casting, choose one Boon below
2 - The handle curves, distorts, and slides upward as though hanging from something while the fire opal expands into a large rectangle. If you can "weigh-in" your target, choose one Boon from below.
3 - The handle extends to the floor and flattens out. The black sphere turns into a lopsided rectangle. A flurry of brightly colored scarves erupts from right under the black rectangle causing the owner the urge to scat during spellcasting. If you can work in a scat riff during casting, choose one Boon below.
4 - The handle grows squat with a heavy base, while the sphere expands to a tilted rectangle. If you can work in today's headlines in your current location, choose one Boon from below.
Boons
- You may add +2 to your To Hit on your next spell attack
- You may add +2 to your spell save DC on your next spell attack
- You may add 2d6 psychic damage to your next attack made with a spell.
Finally, all ability checks that use CHA now have an additional +2 to the roll.
Notes: Must be proficient at performance
