Weapon (greataxe), very rare (requires attunement)

"Rumor has it that this Dragon Slayer Great Axe was forged from the bones of the fallen green dragon Mefitis and that it is possessed by her vengeful spirit that causes it to leak vile poisons that affect all."

- The Wanderer

Dragon's Bane. The axe, like most other dragon-slaying weapons, is made with the goal in mind to make it easier to slay them. When attuned to this axe, you have a +1 bonus to hit and damage and inflict 1d8 additional poison damage, along with inflicting an additional 2d6 slashing damage against dragons.

Draconic deception. Due to the nature of green dragons being known for their deceptions and trickery, you gain proficiency with the Deception skill whilst attuned to the axe.

Toxic Sacrifice and Awakening. When you hold the axe, its poison seeps into your body, but it grants a boon of power when you sacrifice your vitality and awaken the power of Mefitis. When attuned to this axe, you may choose to take twice your level in poison damage that cannot be reduced in any way, and on subsequent turns you take 1d4 poison damage at the start of your turns to awaken this weapon. While awakened, once per turn, when you critically hit an enemy or it fails a saving throw against a spell you cast, it gains a stack of Venoshock; you also gain Venoshock when a creature gains a stack of Venoshock.

Venomous Decree. Utilizing Mefitis powers, you can poison even the most resilient warriors or beings. When a target with Venoshock takes poison damage, you may expend your reaction and remove one stack of Venoshock from them to treat resistance to poison damage as neutral or immunity to resistance.

Smog Mines. As a bonus action on your turn, you may place a noxious smog mine at a point you can see within 30 feet of yourself. This mine is activated when a creature walks within 5 feet of it, letting out a 15-foot radius of noxious gas and heavily obscuring the area within. Any creature that enters the area for the first time or starts a turn there must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 1d12 poison damage and be poisoned. Regardless of success or failure, the creature then gains a stack of Venoshock. A creature with Venoshock takes an additional 1d12 poison damage from these mines.

Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.

Notes: Proficiency: Deception, Bonus: Melee Attacks, Bonus: Melee Weapon Attacks, Damage: Poison, Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave
