By sliding the beads on the abacus' wires for 1 minute in a specific pattern, you can recover one expended spell slot of 1st level. If you have a feat, racial trait, or class feature that allows you to cast a 1st-level spell once per short or long rest, you can recover an expended use of that feature instead. Once you use the abacus this way, you can't use the abacus to recover arcane or divine power again until the next dawn.
