Amulet of Hidden Music

A leather cord, on which hangs a large blob of amber containing a small instrument figurine. When Bards reach level three, they learn the magic word that unlocks the amulet. When they speak it, the instrument within is released and they are able to play it. Instruments vary in quality, depending on who the amulet is bought from. The bard will choose the instrument when first receiving the amulet, and it cannot be changed. Weight--. Includes everything needed to play at a basic level, but no extra equipment. If another character attempts to use the amulet, they will simultaneously experience all the pain the owner has ever while playing the instrument inside.
