Provides a dry, temperate, and comfortable environment for the outdoor sleeper. It appears to be a simple quilted sack (will magically resize itself to fit its user, from 3′ to 7′ tall) without a pillow. It features a short tarp that can be raised over the user's head, which will also shade from the sun. When the head protection tarp is raised, it magically keeps the ground dry within ten feet of the bag, even in rainy conditions, so long as it is not submerged or a flood does not occur. Flying insects and the ground crawling variety will also stay outside of the 10' radius. Others may bed down in the dry zone and enjoy that benefit.
Magically moderates the temperature inside the bag for ONE occupant (no sneaking two halflings in!). The bag will raise or lower the temperature inside by up to 40 degrees F (22C ?) to make sleeping pleasant and comfortable for the occupant. No resistance to magical or natural cold or flame is conferred.
The Bedroll also magically softens the surface under its occupant so that four hours of actual sleep gives the benefits of five hours’ worth (referees may need to take this into account for healing or spell memorization purposes). Other specialized versions may exist, with varying abilities.
