These teeth come from a femaleAbyssal Chicken. One Abyssal Hen's Tooth can be substituted for any material component that has a listed monetary value. This consumes the tooth.
Use of an Abyssal Hen's Tooth as a component substitute summons 1d8+1Abyssal Chickens to attack the caster for every level of the spell cast using it. TheAbyssal Chickens attack until slain or until the user of the Abyssal Hen's Tooth is killed and they have consumed any leftover Abyssal Hen's Teeth in the deceased character's possession. This fact is not revealed when using Divination magic to identify or assess the Abyssal Hen's Tooth. Legend Lore may reveal hints of this, however.
Harvesting Abyssal Hen's Teeth is difficult, since theAbyssal Chicken must be kept alive while harvesting the teeth, or else it will vanish back to the Abyss when killed, taking its teeth with it. Alternatively, one may travel to the Abyss and attempt to harvest the teeth while there.
Notes: Summoning, Consumable

What if you want to use it for a necklace? What happens then?
Then it's on a necklace. Only when you use it to replace a spell component does it summon abyssal chickens to attack the caster.
