Wondrous Item, artifact

Enlarge/Reduce - For the duration, the spell reduces you.

Everything that you are wearing and carrying changes size with you. Any item you drop returns to normal size at once. A thrown weapon or piece of ammunition returns to normal size immediately after it hits or misses a target.

Reduce - The target’s size decreases by one category—from Medium to Small, for example. The target also has Disadvantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. The target’s attacks with its reduced weapons or Unarmed Strikes deal 1d4 less damage on a hit (this can’t reduce the damage below 1).

Author's Note: This item is intended to add an effect to your player based on a unique item, environmental event, or other characters casting a spell onto yours to better help track those stat changes. When equipped, your D&D Beyond character sheet adds the STR disadvantages & decrease to your carrying capacity. Unfortunately it can not automatically add the damage die roll. However, you can...

  • Add a Custom Action: General on your Actions tab
  • Give it a name like "Enlarge/Reduce - Bonus/Reduction Damage"
  • A description like "Used for Enlarge/Reduce spell effect. If using for Enlarge, add roll as bonus damage. If used for Reduce, remove roll from initial attack damage."
  • Set Range to "Melee"
  • Set the Dice Count to "1" and Die Type to "4"
  • Check "Display as Attack" so it becomes visible
  • If you'd like it under a specific section of your Actions tab, you can change "Activation Type" to "Action", "Bonus Action", or "Special" for example.

Notes: Damage: Melee Weapon Attacks, Damage: Unarmed Attacks, Disadvantage: Strength Ability Checks, Disadvantage: Strength Saving Throws, Carrying Capacity: Multiplier, Decreases by one category—from Medium to Small, for example.
