Weapon (flail), rare (requires attunement by a cleric or paladin)

You gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The rounded head of this flail is perforated with tiny holes, arranged in symbols and patterns. The flail counts as a holy symbol for you.

As a bonus action, you can speak the command word to cause the flail to emanate a cloud of incense out to 10 feet around you for one minute with one of the following benefits of your choice.

Fragrant: You can designate any number of creatures you can see, including yourself, to be affected by this effect. An affected creature in the area gains your proficiency bonus in temporary hit points. As well, they add 1d4 to their Constitution, Wisdom, and Intelligence saving throws until the end of their next turn.

Noxious: You can designate any number of creatures you can see to be unaffected by this effect. An affected creature in the area has disadvantage on constitution saving throws. As well, when a creature enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, if it is an undead, fiend, or aberration, it takes 1d8 radiant damage.

You may end the effect any time as a free action. If you use this effect again while a previous one is still active, the previous effect ends immediately. This flail has 3 charges and regains expended charges daily at dawn.

Proficiency with a Flail allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
