This delicate ear clasp is shaped from silver or gold filigree, designed to slip around the helix of an ear without requiring a piercing. A small gem or rune is set at its center, and when activated, it grows slightly warmer as it aligns itself with the language you choose.
When you wear this item, you gain the ability to understand and speak a single language of your choice that you can hear. However, your translation is purely literal, missing many of the cultural nuances, and your speech is peppered with an odd accent that native speakers immediately recognize.
At the end of each short or long rest, you may select one language for the Ear Clasp of Translated Whispers to translate. This setting persists until you choose to change it again.
Of Note: This does not grant the ability to read the chosen language, only to speak and understand it when heard.
