You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon, plus an extra 1d8 necrotic damage, which ignores resistances of celestials and fiends.
If you whisper the true name of a creature to the blade, Soulkiller awakens for one minute, thirsting for that being’s end. During this time, the weapon’s bonus increases to +5 against the named creature, and attacks with it deal an additional 3d8 necrotic damage, which ignores all resistances and immunities. If the blade strikes the named creature at least once while this effect is active, its essence is cursed. If the creature dies before the minute ends, by any means, its soul is irrevocably dismantled. It cannot be resurrected by any force, including true resurrection, wish, or divine intervention.
Once this property has been used, unless wielded by the creature who created it, it cannot be used again until the next dusk.
