Armor of Swift Movement

This oversized plate armor, consisting of intricately designed leggings and a breastplate, was originally crafted by cloud giants. The metal is adorned with cloud patterns, and a "Speed" rune is etched slightly off-center on the breastplate, right over the heart. Once attuned, the armor resizes to fit the wearer, and the rune glows faintly in sync with the wearer's heartbeat.

• Enhanced Mobility: While wearing this armor, your walking speed becomes 30 feet, unless your walking speed is higher. Your speed isn't reduced if you are encumbered or wearing heavy armor. The armor lightens your weight as needed.
• Superior Jumping: You can jump three times the normal distance, though you can't jump farther than your remaining movement would allow. You are light enough to jump up to the clouds!

Invoking the Rune. As a bonus action, you can invoke the armor’s rune to cast the Expeditious Retreat spell on yourself (no concentration required). Once the rune has been invoked, it can't be used again until the next dawn. While the spell is active, the wearer's heartbeat dramatically increases, causing the rune to glow brightly and spread dim light across the cloud patterns of the armor. Once this property of the armor has been used, it can’t be used again until the next dawn.

Not all cloud giants possess the ability to fly. To compensate, some crafted magical items to compensate for this, like the Armor of Swift Movement. Giants would use this armor to leap from cloud to cloud, jump up to right dragons, and lift heavy objects. However, the armor's popularity led to misuse, resulting in heart attacks and fatal falls. To address this, a rune was added to monitor the wearer's heartbeat. Unfortunately, the same rune could also be activated to increase one's heartbeat, leading to even more fatalities. Consequently, the armor was discarded by the giants and later discovered by smaller races, whose tiny bodies could more easily withstand the increase in heartbeat.

Heavily inspired by Boots of Striding and Springing. Mechanically, it is the same item, with an added "speed rune". Flavor wise it is simply cooler.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
