Made of darkened steel, it is engraved with glowing arcane runes that pulse faintly with the wielder’s intellect, responding to their command.
Properties:
Bolt Launcher: As an action, the wearer can fire an energy bolt from the Arcane Ballista Bracer. The wearer makes a ranged spell attack using their Intelligence modifier for the attack roll. The bolt has a range of 120 feet and deals 2d10 force damage on a hit.
Explosive Shot (Recharge 5–6): Once per short or long rest, the wearer can unleash a more powerful energy bolt. On a hit, the bolt explodes in a 10-foot radius around the target. Creatures in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier). On a failed save, they take 3d6 force damage; on a success, they take half as much.
Overclocked Shot: When firing a Bolt Launcher or Explosive Shot, the wearer can channel their intellect to enhance its power. By expending a spell slot of 1st level or higher, the wearer adds 1d8 additional force damage for each level of the spell slot used.
Siege Shot: The Arcane Ballista Bracer deals double damage to objects and structures.
Integrated Design: The bracer leaves the wearer’s hand free for other actions, as it is mounted on the forearm.
Drawbacks:
Arcane Overload: If the wearer rolls a natural 1 on an attack roll or fails a saving throw while using the Explosive Shot, the bracer’s energy core destabilizes. The wearer takes 1d8 force damage and must spend an action to stabilize the bracer before using it again.
Limited Charges: The bracer holds 5 charges, which are restored after a long rest. Each Bolt Launcher shot consumes 1 charge, and Explosive Shot consumes 2 charges.
