Many know of the various sentient weapons scattered across the world, and of those there are some the are aware of their origins can be traced back to Shadowfell . There are many speculations on how they were formed, with some saying the Raven Queen herself was behind their creation.
However there are 6 lesser known sentient artifacts in the world, artifacts that are known to have been created by the Raven Queen. They are known as "the talons of the raven", and were created to help serve those who follow her will and are rumoured to be made from the souls of the 6 Shadar-Kai who became her first champions after her ascension.
Mella takes the form of a black travelling cloak, but with the parts that would hang below the waist cut into 12 tassel like strips, each ending with a ravens feather.
Mella's alignment is lawful neutral, and speaks in whispers with a female voice. It knows the languages: common, elvish, and celestial.
While wearing this cloak, you have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks. Also you have a +2 to your spell attack modifier and spell save DC
Mella has 12 charges. The charges replenish by 1d8 +2 every dawn, and can be used for the following:
- You can use your action to cast magic missile (1-4 charges) starting at first level and increasing by one for each additional charge spent up to the maximum.
- As an action you can cast the spell fly on yourself (3 charges)
- While wearing the cloak in an area of dim light or darkness, you can use your action to cast polymorph (2 charges) on yourself, transforming into a raven. While you are in the form of the raven, you retain your Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores.
- While wearing the cloak in an area of dim light or darkness, you can use your action to cast greater invisibility (4 charges) on yourself
Whenever a charge is used one of the ravens feathers dissolves into shadow.
Shadow Swarm
As an action, the wearer can use the command word "feast" whilst holding out the cloak to summon 2d4 +2 swarm of ravens within 30ft of them. This ability recharges every dawn.
