Weapon (scimitar), artifact (requires attunement by a a Descendant of the Moonflower bloodline)

This silvery bladed scimitar was once the possession of the Ruler of Evermeet, Prince Lamruil Moonflower, centuries ago. It has a intricate designed platinum handle with runes that glow green in Elvish saying "By the Light of the Moon". This weapon is an ancient Elven artifact. There once were many blades like this dedicated to varying members of the Elven Pantheon but most of them have been lost. The blade, a sentient weapon of incredible power, can only be wielded by a direct descendant of the ruling family's bloodline who is pure of heart, as judged by all the previous wielders of the blade whose essence still reside within. If someone of Elven heritage comes across one of these blades the blade can judge them worthy or not of its power. It was last seen in the hands of a lesser Moonflower prince who joined the Bloodhunter Order centuries ago and vanished soon after.

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, you can make one attack with it as a bonus action on each of your turns. Anyone who is not worthy or not Elvish will take 4d10 force damage and must make a Con saving throw (8+proficency+ weapon score) to avoid being blinded for 1 minute. This weapon gains features as its wielder becomes more powerful:

Level 6: The bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +2.

Level 9: The weapon grants advantage on attacks against Fey, Fiends, and Undead. While you hold the drawn sword, you can use your reaction to create an aura in a 10-foot radius around you until the end of your next turn. You and all creatures friendly to you in the aura have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects; the radius of the aura increases to 30 feet at 15th level. You can use this three times every short rest.

Level 12: The bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3.

Level 15: The weapon critically hits on an attack roll of 19 or 20. Once per turn, you can do an extra 2d10 of force damage with your weapon attack.

Level 18: The weapon gains the Reach Property, extending an attack by 5ft. In addition, attack and damage rolls increase to +4

This weapon is an ancient Elven artifact. There once were many blades like this dedicated to varying members of the Elven Pantheon but most of them have been lost. If someone of Elven heritage comes across one of these blades the blade can judge them worthy or not of its power. A moonstone of pale blue glows inside the hilt of the blade.

Sentience: The blade is sentient and has an intelligence score of 16, a wisdom score of 18, and a charisma score of 14. The Blade has an alignment of Chaotic Good and will not align with anyone that is either Lawful or Evil. The blade has darkvision to 120 feet and can hear as well as any elf. The blade can communicate with its wielder by transmitting emotions to its wielder or by visions and dreams, including while its wielder sleeps or meditates, thus granting advantage on perception and initiative.

Personality: Just like other blades of its kind this blade seeks the advancement of elven kind and elven ideals: Courage, Loyalty, Beauty, Music, Light, knowledge, and Life are all part of its purpose. The personality flaw of the blade is that once it has deemed a person worthy of its power it tends to believe in them wholly, even if the wielder falls short of elven ideals - the blade is stubborn and continues to believe that it made the right choice in choosing this person. It would take a great many deeds the blade thought to be against its code for it to abandon the wielder.

Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Force, Advantage: Saving Throws, Advantage: Perception, Advantage: Initiative, Weapon Property: Reach, a Descendant of the Moonflower bloodline, Finesse, Light, Nick
