Weapon (lance), rare

The Lesser Abyssal Lance is crafted from Dragonmetal, through a ritual given to Ariakan by the Dark Queen, and the blood of a Metallic Dragon are all needed to infuse the metal with the essence of darkness. The lance was around ten feet in length, with a black shaft and a rust red barbed head, and a cowl that looks like a snarling dragon spitting flames. It has the Dragonbane ability along with being able to absorb light.

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When wielded against a good true dragon, it becomes a +2 lance.

Upon a hit against a good true dragon, it deals an extra 1d6 piercing damage.

The Darkness spreads from the Lance you're holding or being carried, the darkness comes from and moves with the Lance. Completely covering the object with something opaque blocks the darkness.

One thing to note with both types of lances is that if the head of the lance stays imbedded into the dragon it is attempting to kill, it will slowly work its way towards the dragon's heart, eventually killing it. This can even happen with a small sliver of the metal.

Proficiency with a Lance allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. A Lance requires two hands to wield when you aren't mounted.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Piercing, Damage, Combat, Heavy, Reach, Two-Handed, Topple
