Death's Blade has 3 forms: Slumbering Death's Blade, Stirring Death's Blade, and Awakened Death's Blade.
When the user acquires the blade, it begins in the Slumbering form. In order to progress the blade to Stirring, the wielder must claim 50 souls which get absorbed into the blade. From Stirring to Awakened, the wielder must claim an additional 200 souls.
In order to attune the blade as well as progress to the next form of the blade, the wielder must perform Ritual of the Dying.
Ritual of the Dying: During a short rest, in order to perform ritual of the dying, you cut your hand with the blade, sacrificing 2d8 + 3 necrotic damage, which will permanently reduce your health.
Slumbering Death's Blade: When making an attack with this dagger, the user may use their proficiency stat to the roll. If hit, the target must succeed on a CON Save 12 DC or receive 2d8+3 necrotic damage, half on a successful save.
Stirring Death's Blade: Builds upon Slumbering form, damage increased to 3d8+3. DC is increased to 15. You gain the special ability Shadow Form.
Awakened Death's Blade: Builds upon Stirring form, damage increased to 4d8+3. DC is increased to 18. You gain the special ability Shadow Walking.
Shadow Form: Shadows surround your form, obscuring where you really are. Once per day, you may temporarily sacrifice 1d6 HP to gain charges* for this ability, half rounded up, which is regained at the end of a long rest. In dim light, you appear as if you are shrouded in a darkness you can see through. In darkness, you are completely hidden. Shadow Form lasts 10 minutes and increases your AC by 2. (Blindsight and Truesight still see you)
*Charges are lost after a long rest
Shadow Walking: You become one with the shadows. In dim light, you may completely blend into the shadows, remaining totally obscured until you attack, talk, or you enter bright light.
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: Replace Damage Type: Necrotic, Damage: Necrotic, The final form of Death's Blade, rebranded as a dagger instead of a scythe, Finesse, Light, Thrown, Nick
